Interesting Notes:  Chomper is a regular visitor to this area, often seen with bubble net feeding groups.  She was sighted in Hawaii on January 6, 2002 with a new baby.

Interesting Notes: Spot has been seen regularly here in the Juneau area for the last 3 years.  I took an ID photo of Spot as a baby in Mauii, Hawaii in 1998.

Interesting Notes: These whales (the N series) were feeding near Benjamin Island for the entire month of November.  By mid December most had left for the migration south.

Flame                   Flame                   Sparky                   Sparky

Flame is a regular visitor to our area.  She is seen every year and is one of my favorites.  I have seen her with a new calf in '96, '98, and '01.  We named this years calf Sparky.  She (or he) was a real curious and exciting calf.

Delilah                 Sammy                 Sammy

This is the first year I have seen Delilah with a calf.  I don't know if it is her first or not.  I was never in good position to get a good ID photo of her tail. Note her squared off dorsal fin.  I had thought that this had been cut of by something.  Sammy was close enough this summer that I could see his dorsal fin has the same shape as Delilah's.  This is obviously a genetic disposition and not an accident.

Work in progress
