Who owns Mer-Sea & Co?
Mer-Sea & Co. is a partnership between three long-time friends: Melanie Bolin, Lina Dickinson and Stephanie Lawrence. We are passionate owners who have a hand in every detail. We are completely dedicated to designing and producing beautiful sea-inspired products that can transport you to the calming effects of an ocean vacation.
Are your products made in the USA?
We are an artisan based company. We hand pour our candles, room sprays and soaps locally. Our textile packaging is all made locally. We seek out manufacturers who are experts in their field and sometimes that is in other countries - for example, our Travel Wraps are made in Ecuador at an amazing family owned company specializing in woven products.
Are your products natural?
Our candles are as natural as they can be and still have a shelf life! Our wax is a natural soy blend from renewable resources. We use a combination of essential oils and fragrances and a lead-free cotton wick.
Can I put my glass container in the dishwasher?
Sorry, glassware should be hand-washed before reusing as another candle votive holder. This glassware is not foodsafe.
Will Mer-Sea & Co. refill the candle vessels?
Not at this time. Both the bagged candle and travel candle make perfect containers for votives when the original wax is gone.
How can I get the most burn time from my candle?
When burning your candle for the first time, it is best to burn until the top wax is melted to the edge of the glass. This ensures an even burn all the way down the candle. Obviously, only burn when the candle can be attended and stop burning when there is 1/8" wax left in the glass. Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" and away from drafts for maximum burn time.
How do I clean the glassware when the candle is finished?
Pour warm to hot water to loosen remaining wax and remove wick. Wipe clean and hand-wash.
