Part of our joy at Mer-Sea is the ability to meet and work with artisans. We traveled to Bangkok, Thailand last year and met with ceramicists Karin and Nok Phisolyabut of Yarnnakarn Arts & Crafts Studio.
They work with clay gathered from various places in Thailand to create their art. Influenced by simple beauty, the story of each piece is told in their slight variations of form, color and texture. “Yarn” in Thai means ‘moving spaces’ and “Karn” means ‘time, nostalgia’. Use it as a flower vase or display it on its own...whatever you use it for – the vessel remains forever.
